There’s always so much to learn for the First Aid badges, yet it’s perhaps one of the most worthwhile of badges. It’s most definitely a life skill eveyone should have. As always, the Scouts listened attentively to the speakers and then put things into practise. This is how we earn our motto: Be Prepared.

Tonight, Young Leader Joe took charge of the group. He took them through their Air Activities badge. They made and tested paper aeroplanes, having races and practising aiming them. They also learned the phonetic alphabet. It was a busy night, ably led by Joe. B-R-A-V-O!

The Walkden Scouts spent two evenings at the Warhammer store in Altrincham to learn about models and model-making, as well as creating their own.  This is for their Model Maker badge.  The Scout leaders were really impressed with the concentration the Scouts demonstrated when creating their own models, as well as their attention to detail.

Well done to Josh Hamnett-Steen for achieving our next Gold Award.   Josh will hopefully be followed by two more gold award Scouts by Christmas.  We will miss him at our meetings but wish him every success as he continues his Scouting adventure into Explorers.

Tonight the Worthington Scouts worked on their communication skills – and there wasn’t a mobile phone in sight! As they continued to work on their Communications badge, they looked at the Morse code and played a number of different communications games.
