Beavers shoot for the stars

Tonight the Beavers worked on their Space badge, by learning about the stars and the planets in our solar system. They made pictures of the most recognisable constellations – not that we get to see many of them in the cloudy Manchester night skies!

Beavers go International

The Beavers took on the challenges and skills required to earn their International badge by learning new languages, tasting international dishes, and made some flags from different countries. The Beavers loved learning all about new countries around the world, as well as sharing their own experiences of travel.

Heroes on bikes

The Beavers tonight were honoured to welcome the amazing and inspirational volunteers who run the Blood Bikes Manchester charity.  They listened to a presentation about how the charity came about, and how the volunteers provide an emergency  24/7 urgent response courier services to the NHS, delivering blood where it is needed – fast.  Their workContinue reading “Heroes on bikes”

Healthy living

Following on from their food preparation evening, the Beavers thought about what made a healthy lifestyle, and then designed posters to promote it.   There were some amazingly creative posters!  Well done Beavers!

Healthy eating

The Beavers tonight learned how to be smart shoppers and buy good food on a budget.  They also learned how to prepare food such as pizza, fruit kebabs and savoury kebabs from fresh ingredients – tasty meals that are good for them!  Yum!    

Back to basics

Whilst the Beavers love learning new skills whilst on exciting camps, sometimes they still need to be reminded of the basic life skills they need…..like healthy eating and keeping their teeth clean!  The Beavers learned all about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet, along with the best way to keep their teeth strong. Continue reading “Back to basics”
