The Beavers tonight were honoured to welcome the amazing and inspirational volunteers who run the Blood Bikes Manchester charity. They listened to a presentation about how the charity came about, and how the volunteers provide an emergency 24/7 urgent response courier services to the NHS, delivering blood where it is needed – fast. Their work literally saves lives and they don’t charge for their service. The charity uses a fleet of cars and bikes to deliver the blood and even breastmilk. The Beavers even got to sit on one of the bikes.
The Beavers were so inspired by the presentation and the essential work the Blood Bike volunteers do, that they have decided to do some sponsored challenges to raise money for the charity, which is funded solely on the generosity of the public and their donations.
