Our Cubs and Scouts teams did us proud on the Pike View Hike. It was the most gorgeous day for a walk around the West Pennine Moors. After camping out the night before (in sub-zero temperatures!), the Cubs and Scouts were up and off early to get a good start on the hike. The CubsContinue reading “Pike View Hike 2018”

Introducing the new Mowgli
As Alex moved on to Scouts, it was time to select a new Mowgli, and we are delighted to announce that Bailey will take on the prestigious title. Bailey is quite young to have been awarded this role, as he still has 18 months left to go as a Cub. However, he has more thanContinue reading “Introducing the new Mowgli”
Woggle Amnesty
14th Sale is doing its bit for the environment by joining in with the Woggle Ammnesty. Did you realise it can take over 450 years for a plastic woggle to degrade? Beavers make new friends
As part of our Animal Friend badge, we invited the children to bring in some of their interesting pets for a show and tell session. We were thrilled to meet a giant African snail, a bearded dragon, and a dog! Their Beaver owners did a super job of talking to the group about their pet:Continue reading “Beavers make new friends”
Worthington Scouts tackle cyber-bullying
Tonight, the Scouts talked about the important, relevant, but also difficult, topic of cyber-bullying and how it might affect them. They also looked at the pros and cons of social media. The children showed a maturity older than their years, when talking about the issues raised. We will continue this theme next week with aContinue reading “Worthington Scouts tackle cyber-bullying”
Worth-ington the wait!
We finally managed to get a photo of the Tuesday night Scouts, Worthington. I’m sure you’ll agree they all look very smart in their new neckers. Only 11 Scouts at the moment, but the group will continue to grow as five more Cubs join the pack after Easter. 14th Sale going from strength to strength.
